Mint Julip and Tulip....Aspen's Spring 2009 Litter

Mint Julip (boy) and Tulip (girl) are 1 week old. They are doing wonderfully with the care of their fantastic Mommy Aspen. They both doubled their weight in the first week almost exactly.
The little boy looks like his Daddy and the girl favors Aspen's side of the family at this point.
Both are thriving and looking forward to opening their eyes next weekend, or so.

Mint Julip

This time of year reminds me of being in Kentucky. Keeneland and Churchill Downs are running the horses, the trees are blooming and the julips are refreshing.
Mint Julip is a mellow boy who's ok with anything that comes his way...for now. It amazes me how much he looks like his Daddy, my love, Butter Boo. He will be quite the handsome boy, his new Mom is very lucky.
Please enjoy!

Tulip

Tulip is a very active little girl. It took her a while to get used to being picked up and weighed every day. But now she loves being held and her little face rubbed. Then she'll yawn and let me kiss her for my whiff of puppy breath.
Such a special little girl.
Please enjoy!

The Twins

Here they are together, spooned and taking a snooze.
Both are thriving and all ready checking out their box. I imagine these guys will be little porkers since there's only two of them, plenty of milk at the milk bar.

Stay tuned and watch them grow into beautiful twin puppies.

Aspen's Girl

Here is Aspen's little girl. She made her way into the world rather uneventfully, 20 minutes after her brother.
She has some very cute markings on her head and a little on her rear end but no color on her body.

She's a little smaller than her brother and weighed in at 190 grams at birth. She's gaining weight nicely as well.

She's quite the active thing. She's rather impatient and independent all ready. Wait until later, this should be interesting.

Please enjoy!

Aspen's Boy

Aspen gave birth to twins on Monday, 1 girl and 1 boy. Beautiful!!
I was finally able to download some photos today although I'm on a loaner computer. I won't be totally functional until I get a new computer.
This is the little boy. He's the spittin image of his Daddy Butter. He will be a stunning boy when he gets a little bigger. He was the first born and apparently in no rush to get here. He hung out in the birth canal for a while until his mother insisted he come out.He weighed 200 grams at birth and is gaining a weight at good pace.

Hard Drive Crash

Just in time for Aspen's puppies this week, my hard drive has crashed. I have no idea how long it will take to be up and running again. Hopefully mid to late next week.
If you need me please call.

Springtime.....sort of

It's Springtime in the Rockies, sort of. All of a sudden they've turned on the snow machine and we're having =February in April. Typical.
Happy Easter and Spring to all!

New hope, new flowers, and new life with puppies on the way. Much to be thankful for and to look forward to.

Aspen's Whelping Box

Aspen's whelping box is up and ready. It's still a little early but wanted to put it up since we're changing whelping rooms.

Tanner is playing with Easter toys. It hasn't been too long ago when he was living in that box.

Tanner 3m

Tanner is 3 months old now and having fun chasing the older dogs around. His favorites are his Mom Sierra, sister Molly and big brother Butter. They tear around the yard at lightening speed.

Tanner's still a small boy at just over 5 lbs. Big thick hair, very dark pigment, wonderful playful personality. He should achieve success in the show ring.

He's a joy to have around.
Enjoy.
